Yesterday was my mother's birthday.  She won't mind me telling you she is a young 82 year old.  She runs circles around all of us.  She has abundant energy and we are all so very thankful.

We decided to have a pizza party last night in her honor.  She thought we were ordering pizza - little did she know I was going to make her work for her supper.  We find that when you gather your guests to help make the dinner you have a lot of fun. So many stories, so many laughs...

 We also find that wearing black and rolling pizza dough is not a good idea.  Notice we were all wearing black!

I found the best pizza dough recipe many years ago.  It has a secret ingredient - parmesan cheese.  This is the recipe that has become our family favorite.

Pizza Dough

1 1/3 cups warm water
1 pkg Rapid Rise Yeast
1/2 tsp. sugar
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 Tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Let this dough rise for 45 minutes.  Divide in half - to make 2 pizzas.  Roll out dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.
One thing I always do is coat the pizza dough once it's on the pizza screen or pizza stone with olive oil and chopped garlic. Sprinkle with sea salt and then get moving with your favorite toppings.

It also helps if you have the "Italian Traditional Radio" channel on Pandora playing in the background.
