Picking Berries With Friends

Today was berry picking day.  These four friends, along with
one that got away (Brenda) were really fast pickers.  We arrived at The Berry Barn in Sand Springs before they were
even open at 8:00 am and by 9:30 we done.

The Berry Barn was a new place for us to go.  It hasn't been
 open very long.
This is their first year to sell berries.
 The berries they grow:
blackberries, blueberries and strawberries.

They grow their strawberries on vertical structures - hydroponic system -
no bending required.  This makes picking strawberries
a breeze.  On top of these structures they had planted
herbs of all kinds - basil, cilantro, oregano and tarragon.

The herbs are free for the picking.

The blueberry and blackberry plants were loaded with berries.
It was so fun picking berries with friends.  We were able to spend the morning visiting
about how our berries were going to be used and just catching up.

I totally recommend visiting The Berry Barn.  It's so easy to find, prices were good,
berry plants were organized and there was easy access to the plants.
Did I tell you, FREE herbs?  I'm thinking about making bruschetta tonight.
